We are happy to offer the following services:

Family Dentistry
At Lake Hills Family Dentistry we see patients of all ages and provide a wide range of dental services including preventative care, sealants, fillings, veneers, crowns, endodontics, extractions, fixed bridges and dentures. Our goal is to help you with all your dental care needs so you can achieve and maintain a quality smile for life.

Preventive Care
Educating our patients is the primary goal of our practice. Instruction is focused on preventing gum disease, cavities and tooth loss. We review each patient’s home care routine and recommend brushing twice daily and flossing daily. We also suggest regular office visits for dental cleanings to ensure excellent oral health. Conservative treatments such as sealants, prescription fluoride toothpaste and chewing xylitol gum are suggested when it is needed to maintain dental health.

Fillings
Dental filling are one of the most common procedures done. We offer both composite (tooth colored) fillings and amalgam (silver colored) fillings. While composite fillings are by far the most common, the size and location of a filling often plays a role in deciding which type of filling will be best.

Cosmetic Dentistry
We offer a wide variety of aesthetic dental services including whitening, tooth-colored fillings, ceramic veneers, porcelain and ceramic crowns and bridges. When the patient expresses a desire to improve the appearance of their smile, detailed treatment options and available materials will be presented to the patient and discussed.

Crowns and Bridges
Teeth that are chipped, cracked or have minimal natural tooth structure may need to be preserved with a full-coverage crown. Our office offers the following types of crowns: all-ceramic porcelain, zirconium, porcelain fused to high-noble metal and gold crowns. If a tooth or teeth are missing, a bridge may be necessary to fill in the space(s). Bridges stabilize the teeth, improve esthetics and provide the necessary surfaces for biting and chewing.

Extractions
While our usual goal is to help our patients keep their natural teeth as long as possible, it is sometimes necessary to extract teeth. We can perform extractions for orthodontic purposes or when teeth are not restorable due to severe infection or broken beyond repair. We also partner with oral surgeon offices in the area that are skilled in administering sedation and general anesthetic for extractions.

Periodontal Disease
Periodontal disease is gum disease. Unhealthy gums can cause serious problems for your teeth and general health. One of the first signs of periodontal disease is bleeding gums. Regular teeth cleaning with our hygienist and daily home care will help to control periodontal disease and keep your gums and teeth healthy. In some cases, patients may be referred to a specialist called a periodontist.

Endodontics
Dr. Malyon is experienced at performing endodontic procedures (root canals). A root canal is sometimes necessary to preserve a tooth that has developed an infection. A tooth that has had a root canal will usually require additional procedures like a filling, build-up (very large filling) or a crown. In some cases, Dr. Malyon may refer patients to a specialist called an endodontist.

Dental Implants
Implants are oftentimes the best replacement option for missing teeth. We will discuss your tooth replacement options and help you to decide which option is best for you. Dr. Malyon refers patients to a specialist, like an oral surgeon or periodontist, to surgically place the implant(s). Patients will then return to our office to place the implant crown. Dr. Malyon has much experience in implant crown placement and will restore your implant to maximize both its function and aesthetics.

Orthodontics
Dr. Malyon works regularly with experienced orthodontists in the area to coordinate tooth growth and alignment issues. Dr. Malyon is often able to provide retainers, space-maintainers, and very limited tooth movement with clear aligners.
